UVT also celebrates the National Day at the Romanian Embassy in Vienna

A wonderful evening took place in Vienna, an event offered by the Embassy of Romania in the Republic of Austria, in the spirit of the very special cultural and diplomatic connection between the two countries.

Held in a difficult international context, the event marked Romania's National Day and was dedicated to all those who, since the beginning of the pandemic, have successfully managed to find solutions to help the people affected by it in both countries.

At the invitation of His Excellency, Mr. Ambassador Emil Hurezeanu, the event was attended by His Excellency, Mr. Peter Launsky-Tieffenthal, who is the Secretary General of the Federal Ministry of European and International Affairs of the Republic of Austria, together with the State Secretary of the Ministry of the Interior of of Romania, Dr. Raed Arafat.

HE Emil Hurezeanu, Romania's ambassador to the Republic of Austria states: "Unfortunately, the recent developments regarding the Covid-19 Pandemic did not allow, even this year, the organization of the traditional reception for the celebration of Romania's National Day on December 1. But, on the occasion of the celebration of Romania's National Day, we, for our part, want to pay tribute to these actors who, through their involvement, demonstrated how important human solidarity is, as a result of which both Romanian and Austrian citizens benefited. We are very grateful that Austria, like many other partner countries, has been and is with us during this difficult period".

The West University of Timișoara was present through the "Recurences" exhibition, which includes the works of colleagues from the Faculty of Arts and Design. The selection of works aims to affirm a collective identity reflected by what is steadfast, deep and settled in the creation of the teaching artists.

His Excellency, Mr. Ambassador Emil Hurezeanu welcomed the presence of the West University delegation from Timișoara, which is a major actor in Europe, and especially in relations with Austria, showing, at the same time, the importance of academic and cultural projects within the concept of "Timișoara - European Cultural Capital 2023".
