UVT rector, Marilen Gabriel Pirtea: "In an extensive international visibility effort, UVT is in multiple communication and cooperation relationships with its external partners, both from Europe and from the non-EU space. We are glad to have communicated these days with several diplomatic representatives, who visited our university, to whom we transmitted the most important data from the component that UVT supports in the overall program Timișoara 2023 – European Capital of Culture, as and about the high potential of our university partnerships, where the exchange of students and academics is at the forefront."

Cultural and educational diplomacy contacts between UVT and US officials are at excellent levels, and today's visit of the US Embassy delegation to Romania, led by Her Excellency, Mrs. Ambassador Kathleen Kavalec, was part of this framework.

The dialogue held with the delegation of the US embassy in Romania reaffirmed the importance of the relations developed through the strategic partnership between the US and Romania. Some perspective ideas about the development of university partnership relations, which UVT supports through several joint programs with prestigious American university centers, were also highlighted. In this line, the importance of the study program in the cyber security sector, initiated at UVT in partnership with the University of Maryland, where research and studies in the cybersecurity sector are well known, through The Maryland Cybersecurity Center, was affirmed. Also, the importance of deepening American studies was confirmed, through the Fulbright scholarships, with the implementation of the Fulbright year in Romania, opened at UVT in October of last year. Last but not least, the dialogue included more concrete data about UVT's involvement in the overall program carried out in the year of the European Capital of Culture - Timișoara 2023 - with an emphasis on the Smart-Diaspora Conference 2023, which will take place in Timișoara in April, when brilliant representatives of the Romanian diaspora from the USA will arrive in Timișoara.

During the meetings held today and yesterday, the bridges between UVT and the international environment, as well as the opportunities for international cooperation, were emphasized.

The dialogue about the perspectives of cooperation with universities in Korea aimed at increasing the exchange of students and academic staff, but also at the initiation of a Romanian language teaching center in Korea.

The meeting with the Jordanian delegation marked the university cooperation and established some common elements, among which was the appreciation of the usefulness of the Romanian language preparatory course for candidates from Jordan, or the high standard of the scholarships offered by the Romanian state to Jordanian students.

The dialogue with the Spanish delegation pointed out the appreciation of the competition for translations of Spanish poetry, organized at UVT, but also the development of joint projects of greater amplitude, especially with exhibitions and documentary films, as well as encouraging the completion of permanent cooperation with the Faculty of Arts and Design , among others. It was also emphasized that a very strong connection has developed between Spanish universities and UVT, including through the expanding activities, with dozens of international exchanges, involved in the life of the UNITA European Alliance, where UVT is a founding member, along with five other universities from four Romance language countries, from Spain, Portugal, France and Italy.

In the same register, the visit of the delegation of the Embassy of the United Mexican States in Romania, led by Her Excellency, Mrs. Ambassador Amparo Eréndira Anguiano Rodríguez, accompanied by Mr. Adrian Bădescu, the Honorary Consul of Mexico in Timișoara, offered the opportunity to debate some coordinates considered priority, such as those for student and teacher internships, those that include research projects, or those that target translation programs from the Mexican and Romanian language and culture.
