Another week full of cultural events is coming up for the Western University of Timișoara.
On Tuesday, from 18:00, in the Aula Magna "Ioan Curea" of UVT, Daniel Funeriu invites us to dialogue and reflection on the topic: "Chimeras in education" - within the series of conferences dedicated to the popularization of science "Connect to the Future". The conference will be moderated by Mădălin Bunoiu.
On Wednesday, we take a "Film Break" and watch the documentary "Home", which follows the lives of nine children and their parents who lived in harmony with nature in the wilds of the Bucharest Delta for 20 years, until they are driven away and forced to adapt to life in the big city. The film will be followed by a dialogue with Radu Ciorniciuc, winner of the Gopo award for directorial debut in 2021. The discussion will be moderated by Adina Baya.
In addition to the conferences, we have the opportunity to visit key locations of the city in guided tours, organized by the Faculty of Arts and Design, together with heritage specialists such as: Brîndușa Havași, Alexandra Keller and Cornel Farcaș. Registrations are made within the limit of 25 available places at the phone number 0256.592.911 or by an e-mail with the name, a contact phone number and the date of the tour to secretariat.arte@e-uvt.ro. Participation in the tour is free.
In addition to the guided tours, the Faculty of Arts and Design invites you to the opening of the exhibition-photo contest "Patrimoniul de prabo" (November 16, 13 p.m.) and the international symposium "Cultural Heritage and Innovation in Contemporary Society" (November 17-18, with start at 9.00). Both events will take place in the Mansarda Gallery.
The rector of the Western University of Timișoara, Marilen Gabriel Pirtea, said: At the Western University of Timișoara, we try to celebrate knowledge in all its forms. This week, we have events dedicated to both science, architecture and cinema lovers. We will talk with Mr. Funeriu about education and about good practices that we can implement in our desire to create a university environment in which the young generation can excel. At the same time, guided tours are a great opportunity to explore our beautiful city with experts and other enthusiasts. We are waiting for you!
