The Western University of Timișoara is launching new student, academic and research projects, which are designed in an online format, adapted to pandemic conditions.
Through the Faculty of Music and Theatre, UVT announces the launch of two new interpretation competitions, also designed in an online or remote format.
The first of them is the National Traditional Music Competition, instrumental and vocal interpretation, dedicated to vocational high school students from the XIth and XIIth grades, in its first edition, which will take place between April 12 and 16, 2021. The the second is the "inSuflu" national flute competition, which is aimed at high school students, and which is structured into two categories: Category A (grades XI-XII) and Category B (grades IX-X), within which competitors are called to send a record of the required repertoire for each category, by transfer, to the address concursinsuflu@e-uvt.ro, by March 5, 2021.
The rector of UVT, prof. univ. dr. Marilen Gabriel Pirtea, appreciates the new projects proposed by the Faculty of Music and Theatre: "I am convinced that these proposals for new interpretation contests will end up capturing the attention of a large audience, students from the entire country. We also have a recent precedent, the preparation program for the Baccalaureate, launched this month, which attracted the attention of several thousand students, three thousand of whom also participated in the preparation activities online. UVT addresses several project proposals to students, which are designed precisely to create a learning and performance environment as attractive as possible, in a digital, friendly and open university, where young people are guided carefully, with the aim of discover and cultivate professional passions and talents, by choosing their future faculty, a university study program to which they aspired since high school.".
National Traditional Music Competition, instrumental and vocal performance is a national competition dedicated to high school students, grades XI and XII. (Vocational High School, Human Profile High School, Popular Arts School). The open categories for the competition are:
- Folk singing – traditional music;
- Instrumental performance:
- Bowed stringed instruments – violin, bows, double bass;
- Percussed stringed instruments – tambourine;
- Brass, woodwind instruments with reeds, traditional corkscrews, pipes, bagpipes;
- Keyboard instruments: solo accordion.
The registration of the candidates will be done by sending the registration and the registration form to the email address concursmuzicatraditionala@e-uvt.ro, with the observation that the filming of the candidate will necessarily take place in a popular costume from the area of origin. The registration deadline is April 8, 2021, and the edition will take place between April 12 and 16, 2021.
The competition is organized by the Faculty of Music and Theater of the Western University of Timișoara, in partnership with the Banatian Culture Association and with the help of the sponsor SoundCreation. "inSuflu" national flute competition, organized by the Faculty of Music and Theater within UVT, is aimed at high school students and is structured into two categories: Category A (grades XI-XII), Category B (grades IX-X). Young flautists from grades IX-XII are invited to register for the competition by sending a recording from the required repertoire for each category, by transfer, to the address concursinsuflu@e-uvt.ro, by March 5, 2021.
The jury, made up of personalities with international recognition, will appreciate the solid knowledge of the musical text, artistic maturity, technical and sound qualities of each candidate and will award the prizes according to these criteria.
