Through the projects and events carried out, the Western University of Timișoara assumes the position of the epicenter of the generation and promotion of cultural initiatives and projects, in the perspective of the year "Timișoara 2023 - European Capital of Culture". Under generic "At UVT, Culture is Capital!", the academic community from UVT supports conferences, performances, debates, book launches and film screenings, multimedia productions and contemporary art and creation programs, promoted in Timișoara and nationally and internationally.
In this series, we invite you to participate on Wednesday, September 15, 2021, 5 PM, in front of UVT (V. Pârvan blvd. no. 4), at the book launch event signed by the journalist Melania the Fifth, "15 to the Fifth Power" (Humanitas, 2021).
The volume includes a collection of interviews conducted by Melania Cincea with 15 well-known cultural and public personalities in the Romanian public space. Two of the interviewees are Adriana Babeți and Mircea Mihăieș from Timisoara, acclaimed academics and writers, representative figures of both culture and the academic community in UVT. They will participate in the event together with the author of the volume and her guests.
There are interviews with people of culture, "with people who, through their work and the conferences they support, open horizons, change mentalities for the better and shape towards more beautiful consciousnesses, represent an escape from the professional routine. I am like a breath of fresh air in a sometimes oppressive, even suffocating environment, both for the journalist and the public. I had the chance to meet such people and interview them”, declares Melania Cincea.
The event will be organized in compliance with the legal rules for keeping physical distance, in accordance with HG 826 / August 5, 2021. Thus, the public will have to keep a distance of at least one meter between people, participation being allowed only for people vaccinated against the Sars-CoV-2 virus and for whom 10 days have passed since the completion of the complete vaccination scheme, for people presenting the result negative of an RT-PCR test for infection with the Sars-CoV-2 virus not older than 72 hours or a certified negative result of a rapid antigen test for infection with the Sars-CoV-2 virus not older than 24 hours or for people who are between the 15th day and the 180th day after confirmation of infection with the Sars-CoV-2 virus.
In case of bad weather, the launch will take place in the UVT lobby, on the first floor, in which case the wearing of a protective mask will be required.
