Alexandru Tomescu and Sîziana Mircea open the series of "Remember Enescu" Concerts in Milan

The violinist Alexandru Tomescu and the pianist Sînziana Mircea open the "Remember Enescu" concert series at the international level, holding the first concert, on October 9, 2023, in Milan / Italy, in the famous FAI Hall.

The concert series starts with a first artistic performance, a concert that will take place in the famous Sală Rotonda Del Pellegrini, supported by violinist Alexandru Tomescu and pianist Sînziana Mircea. The program will contain works by Jules Massenet, Fritz Kreisler, Niccolo Paganini, George Enescu and the concerto for violin and piano by the contemporary composer, Călin Humă.

University professor Dr. Violeta Popescu - Director of the Italo-Romanian Cultural Center in Milan will open the evening, at 18:30 (Italian time) with a workshop with the theme "Representative Romanian artistic personalities in Italy and in the world, in the year of Dimitrie Cantemir" .

I am very happy that the "Remember Enescu" International Competition project continues with this series of concerts at an international level, a project developed by the "Remember Enescu" Cultural Foundation, because it is a very good opportunity to promote both the music of the great Romanian musician, George Enescu, as well as the values ​​of the national heritage and, last but not least, the image of Timisoara as an important European cultural pole, declares Alexandru Tomescu, violinist.

The "Remember Enescu" concerts represent the second part of the "Remember Enescu" International Competition project, held in Timișoara between September 25-30, 2023 and they come to encourage education through music, but also to promote the musical creations of the great composer George Enescu in a European context. At the same time, the aim of this endeavor is to actively contribute to the creation of a universal positive perception of Romanian culture and heritage, of values, especially in the context of the Timișoara – European Capital of Culture program in 2023.

The "Remember Enescu" Cultural Foundation in partnership with the Western University of Timișoara, the Faculty of Music and Theater organized, between September 25 - 30, 2023, the first part of the "Remember Enescu" International Competition project, the competition dedicated to young musicians between the ages of 7 - 24 years, in the violin, piano, singing and composition sections, regardless of nationality and where they live and who they want to assimilate, in addition to the usual study repertoires and works signed by George Enescu. The project continues in October and November with a series of concerts organized in Europe: Milan - October 9, London - November 9, Vienna - November 27, Budapest - November 28, followed by Madrid and Paris. It is an opportunity to share an inter-generational moment of music, education, attitude and value, imagined and developed by the "Remember Enescu" Cultural Foundation.

The project produced by the "Remember Enescu" Cultural Foundation is possible with the support of financiers, sponsors, partners and media partners and is part of the national cultural program "Timișoara - European Capital of Culture in 2023" and is financed by the OVERBORDER CULTURE+ program, run by the Center of Culture and Art of Timiș County, with amounts allocated from the state budget, through the budget of the Ministry of Culture.
