What are the secrets of the best climbers in the world? How can you achieve outstanding performance or develop the necessary skills to face challenges?
Horia Colibășanu, one of Romania's best climbers, will talk to the public about these topics, during the "Science, skill and determination in performance climbing" conference.
The event is part of the "Connect to the future" series and will take place on March XNUMX, in the Magna Hall, starting at XNUMX:XNUMX.
Last year, Horia Colibășanu climbed the peak of Kangchenjunga, without additional oxygen, achieving the long-awaited premiere for Romanian mountaineering. He climbed the only 8.000-meter mountain untouched by Romanians, the third highest peak on the planet (8.586 m).
Horia Colibăşanu participated in 23 international expeditions throughout his career, being the Romanian with the highest performances in high-altitude mountaineering, with nine "eighths" climbed. He was awarded the gold medal for Sports Merit by the government of Navarre and the "Spirit of Mountaineering" (Piolets d'Or, 2009) by the British Alpine Club, the oldest mountain club in the world. In 2017, he received the most important distinction that can be awarded by the President of Romania: the National Order "Star of Romania", Knight rank.
