Between June 7-11, 2021, the Erasmus Office within the Department of International Relations of UVT organized the eighth edition of the already traditional annual event, Erasmus Staff Training Week @ West University of Timişoara. After it was declared a model of good practice at national level in 2019, and in 2020 it was organized online and enjoyed extraordinary success, in 2021, with enthusiasm and courage, we return to the (new) normal.
The 25 places available for participation were quickly filled in the spring of this year, the countries represented being Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Italy, Morocco, Montenegro, Poland, Republic of Moldova, Serbia. The program included training activities supported by experts from the National Agency for Community Programs in the Field of Education and Professional Training, as well as from the Western University of Timisoara. The topics addressed included: international mobility in the new Erasmus program, the initiative European Universities, redefining international relations in higher education after the pandemic. Also, the participants were engaged daily in activities that involve the exchange of good practices in the field of internationalization of higher education (activities of the mutual learning workshop, world cafe, job shadowing) and in cultural activities, aimed at introducing them to the future European cultural capital and promoting not only UVT, but Timişoara as well.
The West University of Timișoara continues to demonstrate its resilience in this period of transition to the new normality, redefining already known actions, such as the Erasmus Staff Training Week @West University of Timișoara, and adapting them to the new conditions and needs in higher education. Such actions bring added value to the professional experience of participants from abroad, but also to UVT colleagues who come into contact with them (administrative or teaching staff), representing another form of internationalization at home in a period when access to physical international experiences it's still extremely limited.
