Training of trainers in intercomprehension in Turin

The training course in intercomprehension for teachers is organized by the University of Turin in collaboration with the application center in intercomprehension APICAD, coordinators: Sandra GARBARINO (University of Lyon 2, France) and Elisa CORINO (University of Turin). The duration of the course is fifty hours, distributed over several months; it started in May this year and will end in November.

The structure of this training contains hours of theoretical introduction (10 hours) in which work tools, strategies and key notions are presented; a 15-hour practical session applying the IC method through online exercises and teamwork; the third stage consists in the development of teaching materials useful to students, the presentation (by the students) of the support developed in study groups and in workshops (15 hours); the completion of the course (10 hours) is done by uploading to the platform a series of support materials, strategies and didactic sequences through which the trainer demonstrates how he practices and integrates the intercomprehension method in specialized courses and seminars or in those introducing intercomprehension. From our University, twenty colleagues from different fields, both philological and non-philological, both teaching staff and PhD students, signed up. In the opening course, which was held on May 20, the first two intercomprehension specialist trainers presented introductory materials: Elisabetta Bonvino and Diego Cortés Velásquez who detailed the work platform and databases that will be used: Eurom5, MIRIADI and IOTT, online work tools with rich and diverse didactic materials, organized by levels of difficulty, by Romance languages, by psychological learning ages, etc. The course enjoys success among those enrolled in that it emphasizes the students' ability to work actively, immediately and efficiently with the known Romance languages and to use, to the same extent, the Romanian language.

In June, the series of practical courses began (designed and coordinated by Sandra Garbarino), in which work is done in study groups; the students of the groups are speakers of different Romance languages for the efficiency of the didactic activity. The study topics were proposed by the students themselves according to each one's didactic concerns, and the teamwork is coordinated by Sandra Garbarino. All June and almost half of July we have Thursday afternoons reserved for rendezvous in mutual understanding in Turin. Online for now.
