The Faculty of Political Sciences, Philosophy and Communication Sciences invites the entire UVT community to two online events with international participation, which will take place on March 8: Women in Data Science Central and Eastern Europe and Women in Data Science Romania.
The conferences are independent events organized by WiDS ambassadors from 7 countries (for CEE) and by the Romanian think tank for national development, 360 (for Romania), and they coincide with the annual conference Women in Data Science (WiDS) worldwide, held at Stanford University and in more than 150 locations around the world. WiDS events are open to all genders and career perspectives.
The two events bring together over 100 successful women from the Data Science area in Romania and the region, from all sectors and from the highest levels - governmental, business, academic and civil society.
Topics of strategic interest for the Data Science field will be debated: the importance of training specialists in these interdisciplinary fields in universities, the employability of young people in the Data Science area in all sectors, scientific and technological advances in the fields of Big Data, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, techniques of data collection, analysis and visualization, data-informed public policies, technological infrastructures for transparency and institutional and organizational performance, and many other excellent presentations and interventions.
We are honored that the team of students from FabLab (Social Fabrics Research Lab) of the Department of Philosophy and Communication Sciences within UVT is co-organizer of the regional event and communication partner in organizing the event in Romania. The team exclusively handles the communication and promotion of the two international events, both premiering this year. Coordinators of Lect. Univ. Dr. Silvia Fierescu, they produce all the digital content, the graphics, the CEE website, as well as the management of all social media accounts, on all known platforms, for both events.
