Between March 1-19, 2021, students of the West University of Timișoara can apply for an Erasmus+ study mobility, respectively a study mobility through the Education, Scholarships, Apprenticeship and Youth Entrepreneurship Program 2014 – 2021 (SEE) at partner institutions abroad (for autumn 2021).
The 2020-2021 academic year also brought major changes regarding the selection for Erasmus+ internship mobility, which is open throughout the academic year.
Another novelty offered to UVT students starting in 2020 is the possibility to apply for study or practice mobility within the UNITA – UNIVERSITAS MONTIUM Consortium (the network of European universities that are part of it, in addition to the Western University of Timișoara, and other five partner universities from Romance-speaking countries: Università degli studi di Torino, Université de Pau et des Pays de l'Adour, Université Savoie Mont Blanc, Universidad de Zaragoza and Universidade Beira Interior).
The rector of UVT, university professor Dr. Marilen Gabriel Pirtea, points out: "For over 30 years, the Erasmus program has offered students the opportunity to benefit from an international experience during their university studies. So, to leave with Erasmus it has become a common practice for students in European universities. In the following period, during the month of March, the campaign to promote student mobility will be held at UVT. Students will have various activities, from the presentation of study and practice opportunities or discussions with former mobility participants, to watching videos about international academic experiences. The international experience brought by Erasmus mobilities becomes even more important today, when the world tends to emerge from the crisis of a prolonged pandemic and wants to return to normality".
The Youth Education, Scholarships, Apprenticeship and Entrepreneurship Program 2014 – 2021 (SEE) aims to improve the quality and relevance of education and training, the learning mobility of students between donor countries and beneficiary countries, cooperation and partnerships between education and the labor market, as well as professional development.
The application period for international student mobility is open between March 1 and 19.
Students can choose study mobility at partner institutions in the European space. Moreover, for Erasmus+ study mobilities, UVT students also have at their disposal some unique destinations outside Europe, such as South Africa, China, Morocco, Peru, etc. During the trip, the participants will benefit from a monthly grant of 520 / 700 euros (for study mobilities) or 720 / 670 euros (for practical mobilities), depending on the country. It is also important to mention that the results obtained during the mobility are recognized and equalized. A study experience can last a semester or an academic year, and a practice experience must last at least two months.
