Master's in the first year in Fitness and Motor Performance, within the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport of UVT, Denis Iovescu represented the Sport Record Original Club at the 12th edition of the Wukf European Karate Championship, which took place during 3 – 6 November 2022 in Florence, Italy.
1852 athletes from 21 countries participated in the individual/team kata and kumite events.
Winning all 12 matches (with opponents from France, Denmark, England, Slovakia, Italy, Scotland), Denis Iovescu became the European Champion in the -85 kg category, the final being won with a score of 5-2 against the athlete from France.
As a member of the National team, Denis is trained by Bede Laszlo Arthur, 5 Dan, Master of Sports Emeritus, being also an important ambassador of the UVT community and the city of Timișoara.
