As every year, in 2023 we can also vote for our favorite finalists at RegioSTARs, so that the project with the most votes will receive the "Public Award" in a special ceremony.
The Western University of Timișoara competes in the "A green Europe" category with the project "From mine to river. The Water Guardians!” which we encourage you to vote for here: www.regiostarsawards.eu, until November 14 at the latest.
Each person can vote for a maximum of three projects, giving one vote for each project, regardless of the category it belongs to.
This year, the projects in the REGIOSTARS competition fall into six distinct categories:
1) A Competitive and Smart Europe
2) A Green Europe
3) A Connected Europe
4) A Social and Inclusive Europe
5) A Europe Closer to the Citizens
6) Topic of the Year (European Year of Skills 2023)
The competition calendar includes three important dates:
- October 11 – the final round of project presentations, which will take place during "EU Regions' Week"
- November 14 – closing of public voting on the competition platform
- November 16 – award ceremony for the winners, which will take place in Ostrava, in the Czech Republic

DIRECTORS is a competition organized every year, since 2008, by the Directorate-General for Regional and Urban Policy of the European Commission. Over the years, it has become the European model of excellence for EU-funded projects, demonstrating the impact and inclusive nature of regional development.
