The West University of Timişoara, through the Department for Teaching Staff Training, organized the ninth edition of the National Conference "Culture and education today", project financed by the Timiș County Council through the "TimCultura 2023" grant program. The event took place on November 25, 2023 in a hybrid format, with the participation of 300 invited pupils, students, doctoral students and teaching staff from pre-university and university environments in the country.
The conference managed to bring together theorists, practitioners and students in the field of teacher training in a common space in order to identify solutions for improving, consolidating and implementing good practices in teacher training. At the opening of the conference, the following spoke: the vice-rector of the West University of Timișoara, associate professor dr. Mădălin Bunoiu, director of DPPD – UVT, prof. skilled dr. Marian D. Ilie, student Roxana Matei, president of OSUT – UVT.
In the plenary of the conference, four communications were presented on specialized topics: the professionalization of the teaching career, the ways of using the optionals from the CRED offer and the advantages of their proposal, how we can help ourselves with artificial intelligence and how it can be used in the classroom, as well as new alternatives classroom assessment. The work of the conference continued with five thematic workshops in which the 18 lesson sequences filmed during the activities carried out by the participants with the students and lesson projects were presented, analyzed and discussed. Teachers from Timiș, Hunedoara, Mehedinți, Vâlcea and Maramureș counties entered the competition. Examples of good practices and suggestions for effective educational activity were highlighted.
In the last part of the conference, the prize gala of the didactic activities proposed in the best practices exchange competition took place. Thus, the ten best examples of good practices in the classroom were awarded. Project and activity proposals were previously evaluated and classified by specialists of the Education Research Unit of the National Center for Education Policies and Evaluation within the Ministry of Education and Research. During the gala, the awards were announced by Principal Researcher I Dr. Laura Căpiță, as a representative of the evaluation committee.
