Symphonic concert dedicated to the great composer WA Mozart

The Orchestra of the Faculty of Music and Theater of the Western University of Timișoara is pleased to invite you to the first event in the series of artistic events offered to the public this academic year, a symphonic concert dedicated to the great composer WA Mozart, which will be held in the evening from Thursday, November 30, at 19:00, on the stage of the Capitol Hall of the Banatul Philharmonic. The musical direction is provided by the conductor Sebastian Felea and the program will include the works: Overture to the Opera "Răpirea din Serai", Flute and Orchestra Concert no. 1, in G major, with Romina Onișor as soloist and Symphony no. 39 in E flat major.

The Orchestra of the Faculty of Music and Theater of the Western University of Timișoara is an ensemble made up of young musicians in the stage of professional training. Over the years, masters such as Sabin Pautza, Remus Georgescu, Gheorghe Costin, Jean François Antonioli, Dorin Frandeș and Peter Oschanitzky have been at the orchestra's lectern. The ensemble performed at the "Musical Timișoara" International Festival or in important halls such as the "Auditorium Parco della Musica - Sala Petrassi" in Rome.

Conductor Sebastian Felea studied at the National University of Music in Bucharest, made his debut at the Radio Chamber Orchestra and collaborated with the Bacău, Târgu Mureș, Timișoara and Arad Philharmonic Orchestras. Starting from October 2019, he is a teacher at the Faculty of Music and Theater in Timișoara.

Romina Onișor started studying the flute at the age of 9, in Arad. He attended the courses of the "Sabin Drăgoi" College of Arts, then continued the study of the instrument with the bachelor's degree at the "Gheorghe Dima" Academy of Music in Cluj-Napoca. Currently, he is attending master's level courses at the Faculty of Music and Theater of UVT. He won prizes at national and international competitions (International Sigismund Toduță Competition – First Prize, Euroregional Wind Instrument Competition Calea Celebrityităi Third Prize, LiveMuseArt International Music and Theater Competition – Grand Prize). She was a soloist with the Arad Philharmonic and collaborated with the Satu Mare, Sibiu, Arad and Cluj-Napoca Philharmonics. His artistic activity includes participation in festivals, projects and tours with highly prestigious musicians such as the members of the orchestra "des Lumières" and The Romanian Flute Ensemble.
