West University of Timişoara managed to attract, also in the first admission session of 2023, a considerable number of aspirants to university studies, eager to become UVT students. In the first stage of admission, the 11 faculties within UVT aroused the interest of over 7500 candidates at the bachelor's degree cycle and above 2100 candidates in the master's university study cycle, increasing compared to the previous year.

Because we aimed to attract the best young people to UVT, for the second year in a row, the admission process for each bachelor's and master's degree program offered by UVT required the support of a admission tests: either for knowledge / skills testing related to the chosen field of study and cognitive abilities, either of the type of one test of assessment of language skills and reasoning. Thus, following this competitive selection process, UVT enrolled 4,5% more students than at the same stage of the previous academic year in the undergraduate university study cycle, and 16,8% more students in the study cycle master's degree.

UVT also sent invitations with personalized study offers high school graduates who achieved outstanding results during their studies, whether they passed the baccalaureate exam with a grade of 10, whether they obtained the status of promotion chiefs or obtained distinctions at national and international Olympiads. We are glad that over 70 candidates with such performances they have chosen to continue their academic course at our university starting this fall.

The most "sought after" bachelor's degree programs this year, in the first stage of admission, by reference both to the number of places financed from the state budget and to the tuition capacity, were:

• Psychology (8,02 candidates / place financed from the state budget; 2,12 candidates / place),
• Economic informatics (5,42 candidates / place financed from the state budget; 1,63 candidates / place) and
• Informatics (4,22 candidates / place financed from the state budget; 2,26 candidates / place).

At the same time, some of the newly established study programs attracted a considerable number of candidates:

• English Language and Literature – Modern Languages ​​and Literatures (Russian/Serbian/Japanese) (4,71 candidates / place financed from the state budget),
• European and international law (2,50 candidates / place).

The Rector of UVT, Marilen Gabriel Pirtea: "We often emphasize that UVT is neither the largest nor the oldest university in Romania, instead it is the most dynamic. A fact also proven by the offer of undergraduate study programs and that of university master's studies, which is in permanent development at UVT. I entered the summer admissions session with 171 programs, of which 11 study programs were proposed for the first time (6 bachelor's and 5 master's), and in the September admission session, two new undergraduate study programs will be added to them, in areas of interest for future students: Applied Forensic Sciences (unique program at the national level) and Artificial intelligence (in English), as well as two master's degree programs in the fields Visual arts – Game art (in English) and Ecclesiastical Art and Restoration. UVT also offers permanent individual career counseling services to students from all over the country, free of charge. YTM platform is a psycho-vocational testing platform developed by the Western University of Timișoara, addressed to students from all over the country, through which they can analyze their interests, abilities and skills, by completing specific tests, with the aim of orienting them towards a certain educational and professional path . Thus, following the testing, the YTM platform generates personalized reports through which it provides the beneficiaries with information about the study programs of the universities in Timișoara that best suit their profile.

Students who, after completing the tests, need clarification about the results offered by the platform and the appropriate educational path for them, have the opportunity to schedule a individual counseling session (which can be done online, lasting approximately 50 minutes) with the advisors from the UVT Career Counseling and Guidance Center, completing THIS FORM. During the counseling session, students will receive additional information about potential career paths and support in choosing an appropriate university curriculum.
