The researcher Jean-Marie Lehn, laureate of the Nobel Prize for Chemistry in 1987, honorary member of the Romanian Academy, will be present at the West University of Timișoara for a meeting of great intellectual brilliance, under the sign of passion for science.
Researcher Jean-Marie Lehn will receive the title of Doctor Honoris Causa, and then the UVT guest will give a conference. The event will take place on April 11, from 9:00 a.m., in the Aula Magna.
The French academician was awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1987, along with two other researchers, for the work done in the synthesis of cryptands. The awarding of the distinction was motivated by the fact that Jean-Marie Lehn found in 1969 related molecules, which he called "cryptand", through which it is possible to create chemical compounds in chemical reactions that have a significant impact on biological processes.
We invite you to take part in this unique event, where you will have the opportunity to meet a world-renowned researcher, discover more about his contributions to the science of chemistry and be inspired by his passion and dedication to research.
The conference will be broadcast live by TVR.
The event is part of the cultural program "At UVT, Culture is Capital!", included in the Cultural Program "Timișoara 2023 - European Capital of Culture", Oameni territory, Reflectiţi station, financed by the Municipality of Timișoara through the Project Center, co-financed by the Timiș County Council .
