Between April 5-8, 2023, the 2023 edition of the Hexagon of Law Faculties took place in Cluj-Napoca, the most prestigious national student competition in the field of law, organized annually between the teams of the law faculties of the University of Bucharest, "Babeș-Bolyai" University Cluj -Napoca, "Alexandru Ioan Cuza" University Iași, "Lucian Blaga" University Sibiu, University of Craiova and West University of Timișoara, with the participation as a special guest of the State University of Moldova (Chisinau). This year's edition of the competition included three scientific tests (Civil Law, Criminal Law, Constitutional Law) and four sports tests (football, streetball, table tennis and chess) and brought together more than 170 students and teachers from the seven faculties .

The team of the Faculty of Law from the West University of Timișoara placed XNUMXrd in the overall ranking of the competition. At the same time, the Faculty of Law from Timișoara obtained first place in two of the seven tests of the competition: the scientific test of constitutional law and the sports test of chess. Also, the Faculty of Law from Timișoara took the XNUMXnd place in the football sports test and the XNUMXth place in the scientific tests of Civil Law and Criminal Law and in the sports tests of streetball and table tennis.

The team that represented the Faculty of Law from Timișoara at the 2023 edition of the Hexagon of Law Faculties was made up of:

• Constitutional law – Daniel Jivi and Alexandra Popa, coordinated by Ms. conf. univ. dr. Andreea Verteș-Olteanu;
• Civil law – Bianca-Nicoleta Mănoiu and Roxana Pancan, coordinated by Mr. asist.cercet.dr. Maximilian-Andrei Druță et al. Sergiu Căileanu;
• Criminal law – Daniel-Cosmin Sporea and Bogdan-Horațiu Suciu, coordinated by the assistant professors.cercet.dr. Cristina Nicorici and Dr. Ionela Bleahu;
• football – Matteo-Luca Briciu, Robert Bufanu, Paul Burnaz, Alexandru Dumitru, Antonio Ionașcu, Mario Niculae, Slagen Sandu, Alexandru Trifa, Bogdan Țermure, coordinated by Mr. conf.univ.dr. Gabriel Bîzoi;
• streetball – Ioana Gavrilescu, Maria Ierima, Roxana Janina Oprea, Cristina Timoftica, Mădălina-Elena Ursache;
• table tennis – Raul Salontai;
• chess – Paul Paraschiv.

UVT rector, Marilen Gabriel Pirtea: "The results obtained by the Faculty of Law from Timișoara are in the ascending line of participation in the Hexagon of Law Faculties, the faculty team being on the podium in the general ranking of the competition in each of the last 10 years, with one exception (2014). We congratulate the students and their mentors and encourage them to continually aim for performance improvement.”

The result confirms the membership of the students of the Faculty of Law in Timișoara to the elite of higher legal education in Romania and adds to the outstanding performances achieved by the faculty's teams in international and European competitions on human rights, public international law and European Union law. The Law Faculty of the West University of Timișoara expresses its appreciation for the effort and dedication with which its students represented it at the 2023 edition of the Hexagon of Law Faculties.
