Charitable events are among the constant efforts of the West University of Timișoara, even more so now, at the end of the year, when the approach of the winter holidays brings us spiritually closer to each other.
The Department of Sociology within the Faculty of Sociology and Psychology of UVT organizes, for the third consecutive year, the event "Socio Claus", intended for children with disabilities within the community project "Quality of life of children with autism (TSA) from Timiș county".
Suggestively titled "Pandemia Partner Claus - We give hearts", this year's edition will take place between December 1-24, 2020, in the online environment.
Every day of the 24 days leading up to the Christmas holiday, an interview with parents of special children, who will talk about diagnosis, therapies, the difficulties encountered in recovery or the problems they face in everyday life, including socially.
Beyond the charitable aspect, the event is intended to be a campaign to raise awareness and sensitize the general public regarding the situation of children with disabilities and their families, to educate mentalities in the direction of promoting acceptance and cultivating respect for diversity and human dignity.
The partners of this year's event are: the Speranța Empowerment Foundation, the Speranța Resource and Educational Assistance Center, the Social Assistance Department of the Municipality of Timișoara, the Day Center for Children with Disabilities "Podul Lung", the Marisa Recovery Center, the Micile Comori Association, the School Junior Mothers, Casa Faenza Association, Children and Fairies Association.
