The current edition of the international Times Higher Education Subject Rankings (2024) places the West University of Timișoara in the top 601-800 worldwide, in the field of Economics, and in the top 801-1000 in the field of Physics. And in the field of Social Sciences, UVT ranks first in the 601-800 range, out of a total average of 1092 universities included in these rankings.

With this result, UVT is among the eight universities in Romania that have been nominated in at least three scientific fields. It is worth noting that UVT returns to the ranking of the Physics field, while registering its first appearance in the Economics field. In this international ranking, the subfields related to the field of Economics are: business and management, accounting and finance, economics and econometrics. The subfields related to the field of Physics are: mathematics and statistics, physics and astronomy, chemistry, geology and earth sciences. The related subfields of the Social Sciences field are: communication and media studies, political science and international studies (including development studies), sociology and geography.
