The academic community of the West University of Timișoara (UVT) is honored to congratulate Mr. Dr. Octavian Mădălin Bunoiu for the high appreciation given to him along with the decoration entrusted by the President of Romania in the ceremony organized by the Presidential Administration: the National Order "Faithful Service" in the rank of Knight.
"As a sign of high appreciation for the special contribution made to the promotion of Romania's image among the member states of the International Organization of Francophonie, the President of Romania conferred the National Order "Faithful Service" in the rank of Knight to Mr. Bunoiu Octavian Mădălin, vice-rector of the Western University in Timișoara ", according to the Presidential Administration.
Mr. university associate Dr. Octavian Mădălin Bunoiu is a teacher at the Faculty of Physics and vice-chancellor of UVT responsible for CDI strategy, sustainability, technology transfer and the relationship with the diaspora. He has a bachelor's degree in physics at UVT, a doctorate in physics and materials science at UVT and at the National Polytechnic Institute of Grenoble. His teaching and research activity, in a 25-year career, was appreciated and recognized through several distinctions and awards, among which we mention the International Crystal Growing Organization Award, the Romanian Academy Award - Constantin Miculescu or "L'Ordre des Palmes Academiques", in the rank of Knight, granted by the French state. Mr. university associate Dr. Octavian Mădălin Bunoiu also stood out for his involvement in activities related to educational policies at national and international level, being over time an active member in some national and international structures in the fields of higher education and research, such as the Council National Attestation of University Titles, Diplomas and Certificates (CNATDCU, Physics commission), the Romanian Agency for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ARACIS, where he also held the position of president in the period 2022 – 2023), the Consultative College for Research, Development and Innovation (CCCDI, where he is acting president), European Science Advisors Forum (ESAF) or Institut de la Francophonie pour l'education et la formation (IFEF).
