The West University of Timișoara (UVT) is launching an extensive support program dedicated to young people in pre-university education: "UVT for students"

The Western University of Timișoara (UVT) returns again this academic year with an ample support program for students throughout the country, consisting of preparation sessions for the baccalaureate exam, competitions dedicated to students, personal development webinars and individual career counseling.

In the new edition of the program "UVT for students" students benefit from several educational packages, each of which will complement the dimensions of interests of future candidates for
studentship. Is about:

the preparation program for the baccalaureate exam;
competitions for students organized by UVT faculties;
personal development webinar program for students supported by
Career Counseling and Guidance Center (CCOC);
individual counseling services for students, offered by the Centre
Career Counseling and Guidance (CCOC);
psycho-vocational testing platform YTM.ro;
summer school for West Summer University students.

At the launch conference of the integrated program "UVT for students", the rector of UVT, prof. univ. dr. Marilen Gabriel Pirtea, but also Prof. Dr. Mădălin Bunoiu, UVT vice-chancellor responsible for the academic strategy and the relationship with students, Mr. Marin Popescu, director of the Department for Relations with the Pre-University Environment of UVT, and Dr. Vlad Cherecheș, director of the Quality Management Department of UVT. As guests, the event was attended by Mrs. Prof. Aura Codruța Danielescu, General School Inspector at ISJ Timiș, the president of the Timiş County Pupils' Council, Alexandru Pau, the president of the County Pupils' Association, Luca Munteanu, as well as the president of OSUT, student Roxana Matei.

UVT rector, Marilen Gabriel Pirtea: "It is our duty to carry the flame of education from pre-university to university. UVT is the only university that has institutionalized a department specialized in the relationship with the pre-university environment. It's been many years since we've been providing free preparation for the baccalaureate exam, but we also offer professional advice and guidance for future careers. We offer scholarships and development opportunities in various scientific areas, through all the competitions organized by the eleven faculties, but also through the department specialized in the training of future teachers. Last but not least, we offer the YTM.ro platform for free, for testing and vocational counseling, but also the West Summer University (WSU) summer school, which has already become traditional. It is very important for students to know that once they become students at UVT, they have a very high chance of succeeding in life."

Prof. Aura Codruța Danielescu, General School Inspector at ISJ Timiș: "Thank you for the invitation, I appreciate the collaboration with the Western University of Timișoara. I find many beautiful and useful activities in the program that UVT offers, with many activities in which students prepare for life, with very useful counseling, which is perhaps less represented in pre-university and for this reason particularly valuable. We promote these UVT activities to all students in Timiș County, so that students can better prepare themselves for their future as students."

The preparation program for the baccalaureate exam will debut on March 9 2024, with weekly training sessions to be organized, Saturday, until the end of June, for all subjects for which students are to take written tests. Series of personal development webinars dedicated to students, supported by the team Career Counseling and Guidance Center (CCOC) from UVT will start with the webinar The secret of a fulfilled life, On March 13 2024, following as for 8 weeks, every Wednesday, from at 15:00, to be approached a new topic. UVT, through its component faculties, has also trained a number of 28 competitions for studentsin 17 fields of study, some of them offering special conditions in the UVT admission process honors students. Career Counseling and Guidance Center (CCOC) of UVT makes available to students who need support for choosing their educational and professional path and individual career counseling sessions, for which they can schedule by completing TO THIS FORM. Another resource that students can benefit from, in order to better guide them towards a certain educational and professional path, is YTM platform, a psycho-vocational testing tool developed by the West University of Timișoara. Last but not least, UVT also offers an opportunity for students from 10th and 11th grades: summer school West Summer University (WSU). The 2024 edition of WSU will be held during July 18 - August 3, 2024, and registration can be done by completing TO THIS FORM until the 12th May 2024.
