International Biennale of Miniature Arts Timișoara 2020, fourth edition

Emotional interactions

A large demonstration, in a pandemic moment, which can be significant in the history of mankind, takes place subject to all the rules imposed or those that it is good to impose on ourselves. From here to this year's theme of the Timișoara International Biennale of Miniature Arts, it is only a step, maybe not even that. Probing emotions, interacting with everything you can interact with, the transparent wall we build around ourselves because we respect our fellow man, because we love, build, create and move on, are among the few thoughts that emerge when you view the multitude of works that make up the soul of this manifestation.

It is the first year that the exhibition approaches a well-defined concept, that of emotional interactions, and everything was born from the need to punctuate the time in which we live. Ultimately, the artist's role is to convey these moments, to immortalize states that he perceives both inside and outside.

This online edition might seem different from what we have experienced so far although it seems natural to us now, it reminds us that things change but the background of things will always find its way to exposure.

So, we are at the fourth edition of the International Biennale of Miniature Arts in Timișoara, Romania, and we have the pleasure of exhibiting, on the FAD Online Gallery, Emotional interactions from forty countries, to meet more than five hundred artists and view more than seven hundred works of painting, graphics, sculpture, photography, ceramics and textile arts. Impressive turnout for such an event. The need to communicate is felt, written and described. We have an overall vision and a detailed one, each artist thought in his own way about the emotional interaction, it is shown in all poses, starting from probing nature, natural feeling to touching the human spirit, to physical and metaphysical descriptions.

The miniature forces the composition to develop in small spaces, it challenges the artist to put a lot in small containers, it challenges the essence, so in this wide exhibition unfolding you have the opportunity to follow visions of this essence.

The jury, composed of established artists from Romania, Germany, Hungary, Japan, Holland and Turkey, relied heavily on the diversity of perspective and on reaching a common denominator, even if everything was viewed from totally different angles.

In addition to these aspects highlighted so far, we must bring to the fore the work of a team dedicated to the project that worked with dedication for the organization in good conditions. It was not a large team but its asset was dedication.
