At the Faculty of Music and Theatre, the month of November meant the organization of the International Festival TIMISOARA MUSICAL ACADEMIC, XNUMXth edition, and participation in the Performing Arts specialization, Acting year III, at International festival of theater schools "Studio", organized by the University of Theater Arts in Târgu Mureș. International festival TIMISOARA MUSICAL ACADEMIC took place between 05-11 November 2020 and, thanks to the guests – prominent personalities of the academic music environment, who were kind enough to respond to our request, it was a real success.
The violinist Florin Negreanu from the Netherlands, Prof. Dr. Ionel Pantea (bass) from Luxembourg, currently an employee of the Operetta Theater in Budapest, Prof. Dr. Constantin Sandu (pianist), from the "i2ADS Research Institute" were present with us ", Higher School of Music and Performing Arts in Porto - Portugal, Prof. Dr. Violeta Dinescu (composer), from the University Carl von Ossietzky from Oldenburg – Germany and, as an added value, Prof. Dr. Theodor Coresi (bass), Director of the artistic impresario agency ArtCor Artists Agency Vienna.
The event was attended by teachers from pre-university and university education, pupils and students from vocational education institutions; there were representatives from Bacău, Bucharest, Craiova, Drobeta-Turnu Severin, Târgu Jiu, Timișoara.
During the event, the session of scientific communications took place, which had as its theme The Musical Life of Banat.
A novelty brought to the already known format of the festival, was the introduction International Online Violin Competition – Prestissimo International Violin Online Competition; the contest took place between November 05-10, 2020 and benefited from a prestigious jury: prof. university Dr. Diana Moș, Rector of the National University of Music in Bucharest, Răzvan Stoica, concert soloist - Holland, Prof. acad. Vladimir Markovici – Serbia, violin professor and concert player Radu Ungureanu – Portugal, violin professor Donatella Colombo – Brescia, Italy, conductor Prof. Bruno dal Bon – Como, Italy, manager of the Bacău Philharmonic, Pavel Ionescu, concert player and Prof. Julieta Mihai - USA, violin professor Magdalena Ursu - "Dinu Lipatti" College Bucharest, violin professor Elena Baltăgă - "George Enescu" College Bucharest, violin professor Iulia Luță - "Ciprian Porumbescu" College Chisinau Republic of Moldova and violinist Florin Negreanu. The president of the jury being Prof. Univ. skilled dr. Luminita V. Burcă.
As for the theater, the student-actors of the third year participated with one of the undergraduate performances, Operetta Square, directed by assistant. Dr. Mirela Puia and assistant. Dr. Constantin Tovarnițchi, at International Festival of Theater Schools "Studio", organized by the University of Theater Arts in Târgu Mureș. During the festival, assistant. university Dr. Constantin Tovarnițchi also held a Commedia dell' Arte workshop for the participating students.
It was an opportunity to follow (online) the research and artistic creation work of other students from universities in the country and abroad, such as the National University of Theater and Cinematography "IL Caragiale" (Bucharest), the Academy of Music, Theater and Arts Plastics (Chisinau - Republic of Moldova), "Babeş-Bolyai" University (Cluj-Napoca), "George Enescu" University of Arts (Iasi), University of Craiova (Craiova), "Lucian Blaga" University (Sibiu), University of Arts from Târgu Mureș (Romania), National University of Theatre, Film and Television "IK Karpenko-Kary" - Kyiv (Ukraine), Academy of Arts from Novi-Sad (Serbia), University of Arts from Belgrade (Serbia), University of Kaposvár (Hungary), Performing Arts Studio Scotland in Edinburgh (Scotland), the International Academy of Performing Arts in Versailles (France), the National Art Institute in Novosibirsk (Russia) and the West University in Timisoara.
During the month of December, there will be the presentation of two conferences, online, by personalities from the musical world, one by Prof. Dr. Violeta Dinescu, composer, from the University Carl von Ossietzky from Oldenburg – Germany, within the FDI project West University of Timisoara – Diaspora Guest Lectures / Workshops, and that of the manager Romanian National Opera from Timișoara, Mister. Cristian Rudic, in the framework of the activities carried out by SAS-UVT (Societyatea Antrepreneurialia Studențeasca), which includes conferences to popularize the fields of study present in the University of the West, generically grouped under the generic title Future Science.
