Five UVT projects, eligible for funding under the "Innotech Student" program

The Western University of Timișoara is adapting to the increasing increase in professional qualification standards imposed in the labor market, but also to the increasing speed of transformation of the specific requirements of new jobs in the real economy. In this context, UVT is concerned with developing accessible and useful programs for students, through which they promote a good professional insertion after graduation.

In its efforts to access funding for such programs, UVT submitted this fall five projects, totaling 48.200.809,13 lei, in the Call for projects "Innotech Student", corresponding to the funding segment POCU/829/6/13/ "Increasing the number of university and non-university tertiary education graduates who find a job as a result of access to learning/research/innovation activities at a potential job, with an emphasis on economic sectors with competitive potential, identified according to SNC and areas of intelligent specialization according to SNCDI".

All five submitted projects were admitted following the verification of administrative compliance and eligibility for the "Innotech Student" call on November 18, 2020.

The rector of UVT, university professor Dr. Marilen Gabriel Pirtea, notes the good perspectives opened by this stage of checking administrative compliance and eligibility:

"UVT is in the first echelon of Romanian universities, being known as the most dynamic comprehensive university in the country. We manage to profile ourselves publicly in this way through the value of the projects we propose in the various fields of education and research. This is the case, for example, in the case of the five projects that qualified in the last judging stage for POCU type funding, which are a good example of the ambitious concerns we have in the direction of student training and their achievement of the skills and abilities necessary for a successful future insertion in the labor market. We are convinced that the projects we proposed in the "Innotech Student" Call will lead to a significant increase in the preparation of future graduates of our university for the new jobs and specializations of the future, a primary goal of our university community."
