The West University of Timișoara, through the Department for Teaching Staff Training, in collaboration with the Timiș County School Inspectorate, through the Banățean National College Timișoara, together with the National Pedagogical College "Carmen Sylva" Timișoara and the Economic College FS Nitti Timișoara, organized the third edition of Conference "Culture and education today", Thursday, November 12, 2020, being co-financed by the Timiș County Council, through the 2020 Cultural Agenda.
The conference brought together approximately 300 participants, who took part in the works organized online by the Western University of Timisoara. Thus, theorists, practitioners and students from the field of teacher training gathered in a common space, in order to identify solutions for improving, consolidating and implementing good practices in teacher training.
At the opening of the conference, the President of the Timiș County Council, Alin Nica, the Vice-Rector of the West University of Timișoara, prof. Dr. Mădălin Octavian Bunoiu, General School Inspector of IȘJ Timiș, Prof. Marin Popescu, Director of DPPD – UVT, conf. skilled dr. Marian D. Ilie, Director of DRMP, university lecturer. Dr. Romanita Jumanca, OSUT President Adrian Breha. In the second part of the conference, seven plenary communications were presented, with the theme of online teaching, and in the third part, in the five thematic workshops, examples of good classroom practices were presented with filmed sequences during the thematic activities. In the last part of the conference, they were awarded by Mrs. scientific researcher Dr. Simona Velea top 10 examples of good classroom practice, activities that were previously evaluated and classified by specialists of the Education Research Unit of the National Center for Education Policies and Evaluation within the Ministry of Education and Research.
The prizes were awarded and the winners were congratulated, at which time the General School Inspector of IȘJ Timiș, Prof. Marin Popescu addressed precise invitations to collaboration to the awardees, in order to organize a series of webinars for the dissemination of good practices in online teaching. At the same time, the Director of DPPD - UVT, university professor skilled dr. Marian D. Ilie reiterated UVT's openness to permanent collaboration with the pre-university environment, stressing that these collaborative efforts between UVT and pre-university education are a priority in the management strategy of the Rector of UVT, Prof. Univ. Dr. Marilen Gabriel Pirtea.
