On November 27, 2020, university conf. Dr. Irina Diana Mădroane (Faculty of Letters, History and Theology, Department of Modern Languages and Literatures) participated in the round table "Romanian Diaspora in the UK and Romania's image. Being 'HERE' and 'THERE'", organized by Dr. Alina Dolea (Bournemouth University, Great Britain), in collaboration with the research center "Comparative Politics and Media Research" from Bournemouth University and the Institute of Sociology of the Romanian Academy.
The debate brought together researchers from the field of country image, migration and diaspora and media studies, institutional representatives (Presidential Administration, Government of Romania, Honorary Consulate of Romania in Winchester) and journalists (Teleleu, Decât o Revistă). The participants held a dialogue about the community of Romanian migrants in Great Britain, their problems, representations of migration in the public space of the country of origin and destination, with the aim of identifying a future agenda for research and intervention in the sphere of public policies.
