The Faculty of Arts and Design of the Western University of Timișoara will participate in the prestigious Transilvania Fashion International Fashion Festival. The 2021 edition takes place in Cluj, between September 17-19, 2021, under the auspices of the European Fashion Council and FashionTV.

The Faculty of Arts and Design participates in this festival with a number of 29 outfits made by several students and graduates, coordinated by professors who are also established designers. The outfits were made by Gabriela Baboș, Teodora Dolga, Octavian Grancea, Valentina Cerbe, Ana Maria Căpraru, Sorina Chira, Marina Bolgar, Iosefina Cassonato, Andreea Ungureanu, and their projects were coordinated by lect. university Dr. Sandra Suciu, associate professor Dr. Andreea Palade Flondor, lect. university Dr. Cristina Lazar.

The festival is part of a cycle of galas dedicated to the presentation and awarding of excellence in the field of fashion, organized for over 25 years, and was designed to contribute to amplifying the visibility of the creativity of designers presented on the vast European stage, through the joint contribution of the local media and partners from the European Fashion Council and FashionTV. Numerous designers, brands and fashion houses, special guests from the country and abroad, models, hairstylists, make-up artists, photographers, bloggers and media partners have announced their participation at the festival.

About the event, the rector of the West University of Timișoara, Prof. Univ.Dr. Marilen Gabriel Pirtea, stated: "The Faculty of Arts and Design within the University of the West participates in countless cultural events of national and international prestige. We boast some of the most talented and creative students in the country who, together with their teachers, many of them established artists and designers, are shaping the way things are created today. Whether we are talking about sculpture, graphics, painting or design, their results are absolutely remarkable. The participation in the Transilvania Fashion International Fashion Festival of several professors and students of the Western University of Timișoara confirms this once again.
