The Western University of Timișoara (UVT) continues this year the activities and cultural projects dedicated to the community, from the series "At UVT, Culture is Capital!". In this first event, the prestigious guest of UVT will be the writer Mircea Cărtărescu, one of the most appreciated contemporary Romanian writers.

The presence of the writer Mircea Cărtărescu at UVT will be the occasion of the awarding of the title Doctor Honoris Causa of UVT, a ceremony to be held Friday, March 22 (starting at 9.30:01 a.m., in the amphitheater A4 in the UVT main office, V. Pârvan no. XNUMX), but also by the lecture that the well-known author will give within public conference "Literature Adventure", which will take place in the evening of Thursday, March 21 (starting at 18.30, in the Aula Magna "Ion Curea" of UVT), in a meeting moderated by the professor and critic Mircea Mihăieș.

The texts signed by Mircea Cărtărescu are known for their complex and rich style, as well as for the depth of their approach to existential themes and the human condition. His books often deal with topics such as identity, memory, love and the search for self. Among his most appreciated and translated works is the novel "Orbitor" (originally published in three volumes: "Left Wing", "Body" and "Right Wing"), a work considered a masterpiece of contemporary Romanian literature. Other significant works include the novels "Nostalgia", "Levantul", "Why we love women" and "Solenoid", as well as volumes of poetry and essays.
